Must be time for St Andrews again?

I had nothing organised for this weekend and Mum and Dad hadn't made any plans either. It was a great shock to wake on Saturday morning and find it not raining and great news when Dad suggested we take a trip to St Andrews!

So off we went. First stop, 1 Gold Place for lunch where as usual, fish and chips were consumed! After that, we had a wee wander down to the West Sands where lots of people were playing beach volleyball on what was left of the beach. Mum and Dad commented on how far in the tide was, with Dad saying he'd never seen it so far in. It wasn't until the next day that we discovered it was a supermoon that night and that had contributed to the high tide. I tried to take part in the volleyball but the university girls seemed much more interested in Dad. At least that's what he wishes!

Then we went for a walk up the town with Dad trying to get us lost in an effort to find a geocache he thought would be good. This geocache was in a beautiful quad behind the chapel and as we arrived a wedding party were just leaving the chapel so there were a good number of guests about. The description of the geocache says the inside of the chapel is amazing with the light coming through the stained glass windows but the wedding meant we couldn't see so we'll need to return. We did get the geocache though after a bit of searching! The quad was pretty cool even without access to the chapel.

Mum had left the Historic Scotland cards in the car so we couldn't go into the castle this time but Dad did tell me where the end of the tunnel was in the street outside. I shouted "hello" through the grate and was a little shocked when someone below shouted "hello" back to me! It was a wee bit exciting though!

And after a wee play at the cathedral we were set for an ice cream from Luvians and a wander back to the car for the a long sleep drive home.

Just for fun, here's a wee pic we took of ourselves while waiting for lunch.
