Wasp Sting

It's not obvious from this picture, but I was stung in my right ear by a wasp today. I was trying to get it away from a friend who was scared of it in the playground at school and it stung me. I've been very brave and after the initial shock and pain, it hasn't bothered me much, but my ear was very swollen and red (it'd calmed down a lot by the time this picture was taken). It was also weirdly numb and flopped about as I ran - very amusing for Mummy!

And can you believe it?! I was stung on the finger by another wasp a few days later. It was struggling on the ground and I was trying to help it get to safety and it stung me...

Lost Tooth

I had my first loose tooth yesterday. It was very exciting. Until it hurt to eat. Then it wasn't a lot of fun. Mummy had to cut up my dinner like when I was a baby. We thought she was going to have to do the same for my school lunch today as well, but it had come out by then. It fell out at 5am this morning and I rushed through to Mummy and Daddy to tell them. Daddy asked if I'd been playing with it all night to make it fall out but I assured him it was only for part of the night and not all of it.

So, The Tooth Fairy will be around tonight. I can't wait!

MEDIC!

I was involved in a wee accident today. Nothing serious. At least I didn't think so. It did result in a round of phone calls and trip to the doctor though.

I was playing in the house corner at nursery when a room divider screen fell on me. It hit me in the back of the head and pushed me into the doll's cot which cut my forehead. It wasn't a big cut but it was deep and there was loads of blood. The top I was wearing is ruined. That didn't trouble me much though. Yvonne at nursery cleaned me up and stemmed the blood flow but apparently because there was an indentation (in my head) where I'd struck the cot I'd have to visit the doctor.

Yvonne phoned Mummy to explain. Mummy contacted Daddy in a typical Mummy panic and Daddy came up to nursery to take me to the doctor. By this time I was back playing with the toys but with the opportunity to go to the doctor in the snow I was out like a shot! On the way to the doctor, Daddy tried showing me how to slide in the snow - I need more practice at that. Once there, Daddy and I did some very difficult mazes in a book until the doctor could see us. The doctor did a whole bunch of checks to see how strong I was and hit my knees with a hammer. He said the wound needed stitches! When he went to get them Daddy explained that I might be sewn up like a piece of Mummy's cloth. But it was just paper stitches. Little plasters put over the cut in a cross.

Then it was straight back to nursery for me and back to work for Daddy. That night after nursery Daddy was having nothing of the invalid and took me sledging!

OUCH!

I was at a friend's birthday party today. I had a great time. We played in the soft-play area and then had some food and played some party games. Then we went on the tractor around the farm. Regular readers may recognise the familiar routine of Almond Valley Heritage Centre. Some added drama today though. While playing on the soft-play I hurt myself. It wasn't when I was diving head-first into the ball-pool (which appeared to be scaring Mummy quite a lot), but when I jumped off a low wall onto a soft matt... And bit my tongue. I cried for a bit and then got on with the party. I might have gone back into the soft-play but I was getting hungry. Look at my great war-wound. Mummy and Daddy keep telling me I'm really brave. I have to be careful when I'm eating otherwise it can hurt quite a lot. Mummy can't look at it without feeling sick.
