Don't know about you guys, but I've had a pretty cool day! Hope you've all had as much fun as me.

Soap Making

It's so very nearly Christmas. Only 4 more days of school - and that's assuming we're not snowed off again (which is looking increasingly likely)! So time to get presents for my teachers sorted. And this year they'll be getting soap. Because they all smell really bad! No, not really. But Mummy and me have made this soap ourselves. It smells lovely and has stars inside it!

Cinderella

Today, the weather thankfully allowed us to go see the pantomime Cinderella at the Pitlochry Festival Theatre. We met Granny and Grandpa there and had a fantastic time. The show was great fun and I'm glad we were able to make it.

School Nativity

It was our school nativity today. Thankfully the school was able to open to allow us to perform it. It was called "A Snowman at Sunset" and wasn't your traditional Jesus in a manger nativity. We had a lot of fun and did really well given we've spent 6 of the last 7 school days stuck at home and so not had much rehearsal. All the parents enjoyed it and Daddy managed to grab a few photos of me.

Santa Train

Our friends along the road had some spare tickets for the Santa Steam Train at Bo'ness. So along we went, wishing we had Santa's reindeer and sleigh to get us through the snow but we made it in Daddy's old car (Mummy's car doesn't do too well in the snow).

Mummy and Daddy hadn't told me where we were going and I was very happy and excited to be going on a steam train but I still didn't know at that time that Santa was visiting the train and that he'd be giving out presents!

So it was along the line for a bit on the steam train; stop for a bit and go for a walk along the platform and on to the bridge (in the snow) over the train to peer at the firemen filling the fire, then after a wee while we had to get back on the train for some songs on the way back.

Once back we spent some more time on the platform and I got to go on the engine platform to meet the driver! He told me that the train is actually an Aviemore train that was down specifically for the Santa run!

That was a great day and a great surprise!

Stir Crazy

It started snowing here 2 weeks ago and it's still snowing now. Thankfully it has stopped occasionally (not like Granny's - don't think we'll be seeing her before summer with all the snow she's got), but we've been stuck inside a lot. And since some of my best Christmas presents were Lego, we've managed to build almost all my Lego (only pieces left are the pieces without instructions).

Daddy wouldn't let me play with it until it was all built but he promised we can play with it now that it's all complete. He's going to be the baddies (robbers, Indiana Jones baddies, storm troopers and Power Miners) and I'll be the goodies (police, firemen, coast guard, Indiana Jones et al and rock monsters). We'll split the remaining pieces evenly (in such a way that I have the most and the best ones!). It's taken several days to build, I wonder just how long it'll take for The Great Battle to reduce it to single pieces again?!

I hope everyone else had as good a day as I've had. Everyone has given excellent gifts. We're going to have loads of fun playing with them all - it's just as well school doesn't go back for ages!

Christmas Cards

Sledging

There's been excellent snowfall the past few days but Daddy has been feeling a bit ill with what he calls 'Man Flu'. Thankfully he was feeling a bit better this afternoon and we were able to go out with the sledge for a while and have loads of fun. Luckily Daddy was feeling strong enough to pull the sledge to the top of the hill every time for me!

We were sledging in several places nearby, one place in particular was quite steep and if you're not really careful you're likely to fall of the sledge...

Rather then being sympathetic, Mummy found it very funny. But I soon got payback!

I hope everyone else is having as much fun in the snow.

Making wrapping paper

I made some wrapping paper for Mummy's christmas presents at Gran and Grandad's. Check it out - we're all really pleased.

Late Christmas Present

I had a great time yesterday. First I went to gymnastics for the first time. That was really fun. Lots of kids playing on trampettes, balance beams and rolling over mats. I think the lady thought I was really good and I'm looking forward to going back.

After that Gran and Grandad came over to see us. They were a bit late and I was very hungry. We had plans to go out for lunch but I just wanted Mummy to give me lunch right away. When they did arrive, Gran and Grandad had brought a present that was supposed to be mine at Christmas. Unfortunately it had gotten lost in the post and only just arrived. It's a fantastic wooden ball track. You can build your own track for the marbles to run down. Suddenly, lunch didn't seem to matter anymore! But unfortunately everyone else insisted.

As it turned out, lunch was pretty good, and I'm glad we went, although I did end up with a tummy ache from eating too much sausage, mash and ice cream with chocolate sauce. Everyone else thought their lunch was yummy too. And Daddy was even happier when they took vouchers Mummy had that were about 10 years old, and when the waitress forgot to charge us for the ice creams and said she was unable to fix it when we told her about it. I think Daddy will definitely take us back there!

After lunch we went back home and Auntie Vikki, Uncle Ian and cousin Dylan were there. It was good to see them and Auntie Vikki let me hold cousin Dylan, which was nice. He's growing really quickly and I think I'll soon be able to play with him.

In all the excitement, I think I forgot to thank Gran and Grandad properly for the ball run. So, Thank You Gran and Grandad. It's a lovely toy and Mummy says there are lots of other parts that can be added to it so I'm really excited about that too.

Marbles

Daddy and me went to see Gran and Grandad yesterday. We'd all been out in the car for a bit, thought about going for a walk but it was just too cold! Going home, Grandad suggested I help him build the marble run that Gran had given him for Christmas. That sounded like a great idea. Just a few days before I'd seen a similar toy in Asda and asked Daddy if we could get it so I was really looking forward to playing with it.

When we got back to Gran and Grandad's, we had some lunch and then opened the marble run. There were lots of peices and several pages of instructions. Within 10 minutes we had it built Dad and Grandad were chasing me out of the room to play with Gran so that they could build it without being 'distracted'. Apparently they needed all their concentration. The box says it was for 8 year-olds and older and I heard Daddy say that maybe they should wait until I was 8 and get me to build it.


Anyway, a couple of hours later (and many Play-Doh models made by Gran and me) it was finished. And I got to switch it on! Grandad and Daddy seemed pretty happy with their work. Grandad must have really liked it because he said there was no way he was taking it apart again. He's a lucky guy, it was a nice Christmas gift.

Happy New Year

Hello, it's been a quiet New Year for us. We'd been up to Granny and Grandpa's for a few days beforehand (just missed Bono at the Silverfjord), went to see Gran and Grandad for a bit on the first and otherwise haven't ventured far from home.

Today, Daddy and I went for a long walk along a nearby wooded walk. We played Pooh sticks a couple of times but our sticks weren't very good. On the way back I found a great Pooh stick but I couldn't carry it very far and Daddy refused to carry it for me.


Also, in the spirit of Christmas and Jesus' birthday and stuff, we did a wee homage to him and I walked on water. We both actually walked on water most of the way because the path had covering of ice - strange, but cool. I only fell a few times.
