Scarborough today!
Another fun day in Yorkshire today. Scarborough is a rather stereotypical English seaside town - some of it not our normal cup of tea but we did find some cool things to do. We had a go in the funicular to get from the beach to the town - it's been there for over a hundred years and it's pretty cool.
We found a nice cafe for lunch up in the town and then headed for Scarborough Castle - it was just over there after all... Turns out 'just over there' is actually a fair wee trek, but we got there! There's not much of the castle left but it obviously did used to be pretty big, occupying a large part of the headland and offering great views over Scarborough.
I practiced some gymnastics and Dad and I had our customary battle!
From the castle we headed back to the beach. We stopped by one of the many amusement arcades and recycled some 2p pieces in the coin drop machines for a while and then found some ice cream :).
I practiced gymnastics on the beach - Mum and Dad insisted!
On the way back to the car we saw Cbeebies filming a show. It was interesting to see all the cast and crew involved for what could only have been a 60 second shot for some show. It was very funny when it went a bit wrong at one point and one of the actor's ice-cream was thrown over one of the extras!

Astronomical 2014
Time for this year's gymnastics display. The big difference this year is that rather than performing in the local high school gym we did it at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh. It was a fantastic event and Mum and Dad say it was an extremely professional performance in front of a packed house. Unfortunately no pictures or video were allowed during the show but Dad managed to capture this of the theatre - how grand, eh?!

Trapeze!
They've started doing aerial skills at my gym. And it's fantastic! I got to have a go on the trapeze - I can't wait for the next class!

Standing Stones
Did you know there were ancient standing stones in Newbridge? Not many people do. Dad drove past them for years when he was at university and had no idea. Typically, it was geocaching that brought them to his attention. He found a cache there with friends a few years ago and didn't claim it at the time because he knew it was somewhere Mum and me would like to come.
However, it's taken him so long to bring us, the cache no longer exists - unsurprisingly, the stones still do though!
It's a single burial mound with three large stones around it. Experts think there used to be a dozen or so stones circling it. It made for a nice walk on a lovely day and I hope it wasn't disrespectful that I did some acrobatics on the burial mound - it wasn't meant to be.

Airport Parking
Dad's been in London for work a bit recently. When we go to pick him up, the airport car park offers a good opportunity to practice my balance and gymnastics...

Gardenastics
While helping Mum in the garden this afternoon, I took the opportunity to practice my gymnastics and test my strength a little...

Levitation's What You Need!
Auntie Vikki and Cousin Dylan came around today. The plan was to go swimming but we were a bit late and with it being the holidays the pool was too busy so we went to the park and for a walk in the woods instead. It was a lot of fun and I even did a wee bit of gymnastics on a tree stump. But Dad's favourite moment was when Auntie Vikki and Cousin Dylan went skipping ahead like something from a Disney movie! He captured a picture that makes it look like they're levitating through the woods!
I can't wait until they come back again and I really hope we get a chance to go swimming together.

One of the Olympic Torch relay runners brought their torch along to gymnastics tonight. It's massive!

Astro Club Championships
Today was the gymnastics club championships. All members tried their hardest to complete the routines we'd been set as best we could. I didn't make the top three but everyone got a medal. Here's some video of my range of movement and the little display I did with one of my gymnast friends.

Slow Cartwheel
Just back from gymnastics. It's a beautiful evening, I'm still wearing my gymnastics gear and Dad's cut the grass. So here's a one handed cartwheel filmed using Dad's new slow motion camera app...

The Park
Been to the park with Dad today. We took a long cycle to a park we've not been to for a while and then went out to where the new gymnastics studio is going to be. After the summer we won't be training in the college gym any more and will have our own gym for the first time. This means a properly sprung floor and apparatus permanently available - it's going to be so much better! It's also a little closer and I might be able to cycle there, it all depends on how much the new training time clash with my other activities! Doesn't help Dad any though, it's too far away from his work for him to meet Mum there when she drops me off - he'll need to start cycling to work himself!

Moves Like Jagger
It was Astro Gymnastics' 15th anniversary this weekend and all the members were involved in displays. We had an open day for folk to just drop in and we did a few displays. Dad filmed mine (from the side) on his phone for you all to see. Enjoy! I did.

I Love the Holidays
Mummy and I have had a great day today. After we dropped Daddy off at work, we went off to Linlithgow for my swimming lesson. I've been every day this week, and I've been learning loads. At the start of the week I told Mummy that backstroke was my least favourite stroke, but now I really like it, and I'm really good at it! Take a look at this:
After swimming we stopped in at Dobbies for a drink and a cake. Yum. To be honest though, I think I ate a bit much (and I know Mummy did!), so we are not going to do that again tomorrow!
We then went home and I played with my Power Miners Lego for ages while Mummy did Mummy stuff around the house. I can't tell you what any of that was, because I can't say I see any difference! After lunch we cycled to the dentist - passed with a clean bill of health (and teeth), and then took the long route home (on purpose!). Then I watched Harry Potter 2 for a bit before we went off to gymnastics - Mummy was just driving, not taking part! As usual I had lots of fun - we're practising for our competition in September at the moment, and my teacher Allen told Mummy and Daddy the other day that he is having to do more advanced stuff with me because I am doing so well. Hooray for me!
And now I am home, playing with more Lego and wondering when Mummy is finally going to be finished making dinner!

Astronomical 2011
It was our gymnastics club annual display today. We had two shows and I was in two routines in each show so it was very tiring but a LOT of fun!
Everyone worked very hard and Mummy and Daddy said it was the best one they'd seen so far.
The first routine was an "I love the 80s" theme with lots of eighties music that I'd obviously never heard before!

The second routine was to the tune of I like to move it and I had to kick that section off - getting up and doing the Running Man step before everyone else - I was awesome!

Gymnastics Display
We did our annual gymnastics display today. Mummy and Daddy said it was amazing - by far the best one they'd seen so far. I was involved in a Jungle Book display and also a Bad Boys display (think Bugsy Malone). I had a great time and had a very important role in the Bad Boys display! I ran away from my mates to chat up a girl and then the other boys came and dragged me away. I didn't really take a lot of convincing to do that part!
Daddy took loads of photos and here's a bunch of me in my displays and a lot of the seniors who do some unbelievable moves. I can't wait until I'm that good. Although Mummy and Daddy are a bit scared!
