Sports Day

It was sports day at school today. Mummy and Daddy came along to see me take part. I was third in the space hopper race and Daddy says I had the longest jump in the team jump competition. Unfortunately, some of the others in my team didn't jump quite so far so we only finished third in that too. It was a really good day though and we had lots of fun.

My Work

Here's a picture of My Work. I've got a briefcase, phone, computer, lunch, pass and iPod. It's great, I'm just like Daddy - except he doesn't have a briefcase. I like putting on the iPod and playing games with the volume really loud - because Daddy uses his for listening to music. And when Mummy and Daddy complain that I'm playing on computers too much I just tell them it's my work and they have to let me do it!

Water Balloons!

Firstly, a great big THANK YOU to Auntie Lesley and Uncle Roger for bringing me water balloons at some point in the dim and distant past! Mummy had hidden them but Daddy insisted we play with them since the weather is so nice. It took Mummy and Daddy ages to fill a bunch of them up and they got the cloakroom soaked while doing it but eventually we had a bucket full of water balloons and out into the back garden we went.

We carefully threw them back and forward to one another and I even caught one once! Most of the time I either failed to catch them or dropped them and they burst at my feet when they landed on the grass - keeping me mostly dry. Daddy, on the other hand, wasn't quite so successful but it would have been pretty amazing for him to avoid the balloon Mummy launched at him! He failed to return the favour so I suspect this might not be the last of the water balloons this year!

The Cold

Mummy: Oh dear, that's a nasty cold you've got there.
Me: Can I have some cheese? I think that'll make me feel better.

Mike and Hannah

Cousin Mike and his girlfriend Hannah stayed with us last night. It was great to see them and particularly good because I got to stay up late to wait for them arriving! Then I showed Mike a few special moves at chess before he beat me several times at the game - I blame Daddy for not practicing with me enough. It was really good fun playing with them and they gave me a cool little bear to add to my collection that played in the garden with me all day today while Mike and Hannah were at the Scottish Cup Final. Unfortunately their team didn't win but they did come home in great spirits with the greatest of hats and a nice scarf. They're away again already - off to see Auntie Anne and Uncle Ian. I hope they have a great holiday.

Blackness Castle II

We went to Blackness Castle this afternoon for a quick visit. Daddy wanted to go to try to get some good pictures but complained that the interesting skies that had been overhead for most of the day had become overcast and spoiled all his photos - that'll teach him to spend the best part of the day watching the Grand Prix.

We had a good look around. It's a while since we've been so I'd forgotten most of it. It's not the greatest castle but perhaps one of the ones that feels most practical. It doesn't appear to be there for grandeur - it's very much a defensive castle, 10 feet thick walls and the courtyard floor isn't even flat! It was quite busy when we were there and Daddy cheekily parked the car outside the shop as there were no spaces in the proper car park!

You can walk around the battlements of the castle and Mummy and me had got in front of Daddy a bit here so we were on our way off the battlements as Daddy was nearing the end. Just so that he'd know, I shouted across the length of the castle at the top of my voice "Daddy - don't climb up there". I don't really know why but he was complaining about folk thinking he was climbing when he wasn't..!

You Wouldn't Like Me When I'm Angry

Daddy was challenged by a friend at work to take a photo of me as a film character. We decided on the Incredible Hulk...

More Geocaching

We went geocaching again today, and we had the new GPS that Daddy bought so I got to hold it and point the way. Didn't seem to help too much though as we only found 1 of the three we were looking for. Daddy logged the two we didn't find as 'Not Found' on the website though and we've since learned that one of them wasn't our fault - it was actually missing. The person that placed it is going to replace it so we'll give it another try some time.
