Salisbury Crags

I had my first diving class at the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh today. 08:30 on a Saturday morning. So obviously I was up at six am and raring to go!

Diving was great fun. We spent a while jumping in off the side and then got to jump in off the 1 metre springboard at the end. I can't wait until next week!

It was a lovely day so we needed something to do when we came out of the pool. We hadn't made any plans but Salisbury Crags were just too inviting when we headed back to the car.

So we headed around to Holyrood Park car park and went for a walk up the Crags. We didn't plan to walk far but it went well so we actually did the whole Crags, stopping along the way to take some interesting photos!

Mum and me half way up that ridge (we don't know who the guy at the top is!)

Dad and me on this ridge - great photo, Mum!

When we got off the Crags, after complaining about being tired a lot of the way, I insisted on playing with the frisbee and tig with Dad. He was thrilled! But at least we earned ourselves an ice cream back at the car!

Lumberjacking

We are in Kingussie today and with the help of Uncle Ian we did a little bit of surgery on Granny's cherry tree. The tree needed a bit of pruning, particularly after a couple of bad hair cuts (not by us!) in the past.

Dad wasn't up in the tree for long when I asked if I should join him for an #inappropriateparenting photo. You should see some of Dad's Instagram feed for more examples inappropriate parenting!

We did a good job though and the tree's looking a lot better. Dad and Uncle Ian plan to have another go at it soon to make it better still.

NINE

It was my birthday this week. Nine! Can you believe it?! Mum and Dad say it's been a really quick nine years but it seems like a lifetime to me.

A few of my friends joined us at the cinema and then lunch at Pizza Express. Turning nine is a momentous occasions in a child's life and the day was particularly special for me because my closest friends were with me and my best friend since nursery spent the whole day with me. And the record of it all is this one picture. Nice one, Mum and Dad - hope you had a good day.

Levitation's What You Need!

Auntie Vikki and Cousin Dylan came around today. The plan was to go swimming but we were a bit late and with it being the holidays the pool was too busy so we went to the park and for a walk in the woods instead. It was a lot of fun and I even did a wee bit of gymnastics on a tree stump. But Dad's favourite moment was when Auntie Vikki and Cousin Dylan went skipping ahead like something from a Disney movie! He captured a picture that makes it look like they're levitating through the woods!

I can't wait until they come back again and I really hope we get a chance to go swimming together.
