We're on Holiday!

We've arrived at our holiday cottage in Kinloss again! After a long day with a lot of driving and a short stop-off in Kingussie to see Granny and Grandpa we're finally here. It's a bit late to go to the beach but nothing can stop me from playing in the fantastic large garden - not even the fact it's been raining here for days and the grass is soaking!

Olympic Torch!

One of the Olympic Torch relay runners brought their torch along to gymnastics tonight. It's massive!

Astro Club Championships

Today was the gymnastics club championships. All members tried their hardest to complete the routines we'd been set as best we could. I didn't make the top three but everyone got a medal. Here's some video of my range of movement and the little display I did with one of my gymnast friends.

50 Things To Do Before You're 11 and 3/4

I've mentioned this in a couple of blogs; The National Trust have created a list of 50 things to do before you're 11 and 3/4. The idea is that because we all spend far more time inside watching telly and playing computer games than when Dad was a kid (we won't talk about computers and telly not being available when Mum was a girl), us kids need some real incentive to get out there. And perhaps our lazy parents need some help too.

So Dad signed me up. He was relieved and pleased to see that we'd already done most of them but surprised at some others we hadn't managed yet.

I'm going to try to use this blog post to record them for posterity (which is a bit cheeky because you need to register on the National Trust site to see the list and are supposed to keep track there).

1. Climb a tree
2. Roll down a really big hill
3. Camp out in the wild (scheduled for August 2012)
4. Build a den

1953

To celebrate the queen's diamond jubilee, my Beavers troop held a 1950s party in the hall. We all had great fun and the hall was transformed with union jack flags, bunting and cakes (yes, union jack cakes!). But the reason it's worthy of a post here is we all had to dress up like it was the 1950s. Check me out!

Biscuit Design

Today was my school summer fayre and Mummy was there with a stall selling kitchen equipment so Daddy had the joy of following me around with my friend Laura. There was lots to see and do including a bouncy castle, pony rides and a treasure hunt. But here's a picture of the biscuit I decorated for Laura. She decorated one for me and they tasted amazing!
