Dysart Geocaching

We went to Dysart today with Gran and Grandad. This was largely because the geocaching website wanted as many people as possible to log a cache today and Daddy wanted to be part of it. We come to the park at Dysart quite regularly as it's a great park with the option to walk down to the beach or along the coast if you want. There's a cache here in the woods just off the park that we'd never been to before so today was the day. And what a treat it was! We've been coming here for years but never knew the superb bit of woodland existed. We walked along the coast to the woods then into the woods, where we found the biggest monkey puzzle trees we've ever seen. Given how slowly these things grow, I reckon these ones are prehistoric! Then further into the woods (and very near the cache site) we found loads of wooden sculptures (as well as plenty of those grey squirrels). What a fab wee find! See the things that geocaching does for you?! And the event was a new record!

Edinburgh

A nice trip into Edinburgh today. I've been nagging Mummy and Daddy to go back to the museum for ages and I was really cross when we went into Edinburgh earlier this week but didn't go to the museum so it was a special trip today.

So, as soon as we got off the train, it was up Fleshmarket Close. Mummy isn't keen on this because it's a long set of steps and she was relieved when we got to the top. I had other plans though and headed straight up the next long set of steps across the street!

We arrived at the museum a bit before it opened so we headed over the Greyfriar's Kirkyard for a wander. Unexpectedly, especially given the location and time of year, we found the largest sunflowers any of had ever seen!

Then it was into the museum. The interactive section is always fun. Unfortunately there are no photos of Mummy and Daddy trying to the get the highest score on the reaction test! But we did get the robot arm to spell out a familiar word!

And then we found another section we'd not been in before. There was some excellent stuff here, including a fab jigsaw! I had trouble keeping Mummy out the way so that I could complete it - you know how she can be with jigsaws...

And then it was onto The Filling Station for lunch. Where only I managed all my lunch AND an ice cream. That ice cream was amazing too and I ate it all and didn't get any of it on my face or clothes. I think that's the first time that's happened!

Baking

Today I helped Mummy make chocolate-chip banana muffins. And they were amazing! We had such a good time making them too - even if Daddy was in our faces with the camera too much of the time!

Colossus

I helped Daddy with a photo thing he had to do for work this weekend. Here's me being the Colossus!

Park (closed)

My usual park is being moved. It's being moved about 100 yards so that it gets more sun! Seriously?! Anyway, the new park is being built at the moment and it's fenced off so that none of us kids can get into it...

Highland Wildlife Park

Back to the Highland Wildlife Park today. It is great there. The animals are fabulous and they've got a new park too that's lots of fun! Mummy and Daddy were gutted that there was a queue for the zip-line and they couldn't play on it!

Newtonmore

We saw Auntie Carol and Uncle Dave today! It's been ages since we've seen them! I always have great fun there. They have the coolest house, garden and big-boys-toys! I even got to drive the tractor with Uncle Dave today!

Then I got to wear Uncle Dave's boots so that I could play in the puddles!
