Today we went into York. It's a pretty cool town and we had a lovely day.
We did loads - I'm not sure how we managed to fit it all in!
The Shambles; Mum insisted we go to Betty's for tea; York Castle; Jorvik Viking Centre; York Castle Museum. Mum and Dad were broken by the time we were finished!

The Old Course
We went to St Andrews today. We can never get enough of St Andrews so it's always great to go back. We parked by the beach and walked along it to the town. Dad was really jealous of this collection of sandcastles!
They had live music for us this time. They were playing 'Singing in the Rain' but it didn't rain at all!
Don't you just love steps?!
Always speak to the folk in the castle mine.
Ice cream. Never come to St Andrews and don't get ice cream. This time we tried Jannettas. This was a first for us but it's the ice cream everyone raves about. It'll be the last though - it's not nearly as good as Luvians where we usually go.
And then we went onto the Old Course. It's Sunday so there is no playing and lots of people milling about the 18th green and fairway. We don't play golf so did our own thing!
And then Mum and I posed for that photo everyone has to take at St Andrews. Funny that we've coming here for years and this is the first time we've done this.
It was straight to our usual haunt for lunch which was busier than normal and we had to sit upstairs - still excellent food and service though.

Where's Wally?

Water Walking
This great summer weather continues! It was another day in the paddling pool yesterday with some friends - no photos for you guys though as it's not really appropriate to share photos of my friends and I in bathing costumes on here. Maybe if it was just me, because I'm such an exhibitionist, but not them!
Today, Mum and I went into Edinburgh and there we found a water walker - that made quite a fool of me. Now that, I'm happy to share!
And then for lunch - Mussels!

Summer Barbecue
First day back home and the weather is significantly better than we had while on holiday - typical, right?!
Brilliant day to laze about and have a barbecue for dinner. Man food!
And after the delicious bits of dead animal, we enjoyed roasted marshmallows over the remains of the BBQ coals - brilliant!

Ketchup
We were to go to school today dressed as our favourite food. Mum tried but failed to make a kedgeree outfit for me so we settled on Tomato Ketchup. Can you believe Mum made the label all by herself, freehand?! I was really impressed and pleased (even though I don't really look it in this photo!).

Morning in Kirkcaldy
Mum wanted to go to a shop in Kirkcaldy to buy some curtains. Seeing as that was so incredibly dull, Dad made sure we went on a day when the Farmers Market was in town. This meant we could enjoy some freshly smoked Arbroath Smokies!
So we trotted up, had a very quick check of the other stalls (tried some fudge!) and then stood in the queue for the fish.
The fish was lovely, although a wee bit cooler than we'd hoped having just been smoked. Afterwards, Dad and I played tig while Mum spent a bunch of money buying fudge (of course!), buffalo minute steak, wild boar sausages and some other fresh meats.
After the market we headed to the curtain shop. It wasn't any less dull so Dad and I went to the beach instead! The tide was right into the prom wall so I had fun trying avoid the wave splashes. Trying is the important word here. I failed. And they got me. I was soaked! It was very cold but I took it like a man and we had a good laugh. Luckily Mum was nearly finished at the curtain shop and then we could head home for some hot chocolate. Unfortunately, without a change of trousers, we couldn't drop in on Gran and Grandad on the way home to say hi...

Chris Hoy's Postboxes
Today we went into Edinburgh to meet one of Mum's friends for lunch. Lunch is only a couple of hours so that left us plenty of time to do other things!
As usual, it was get the train in. We only just made it to the station in time which meant we had to buy tickets from the conductor. The conductor was very amused when we were in the middle of a very odd but funny one-word story at the time he arrived at our seats! Mum, Dad and me were taking it in turns to say only one word at a time to make up a story. This story involved aliens and car parks and purple and weather!
From the station we headed straight to Chris Hoy's first postbox on Hunter's Square where a kind tourist took this lovely picture of us all!
From there it was off to the museum for a bit. We spent a while in the animal section learning about Giant Land Sloths (they're taller than giraffes when they stand on the their hind legs!) and blue whales (their tongue weighs as much as an African Elephant!) and many other animals. Can you spot the t-rex skeleton in this picture?
And then we got to do a wee bit of excavation!
When we left the museum we headed for The Mound and the Paralympic Agitos were being erected.
We stopped very briefly to see the tail end of a street performance where I managed to get this picture while sitting on Dad's shoulders of a very impressive lady juggling fire while balanced on a ladder!
And then it was Chris Hoy's other postbox on Hannover Street!

Before finally making it to lunch at Guilliano's.
After an excellent lunch, Mum made us go back for a look around John Lewis before it was back on the train home. A great day!

Biscuit Design
Today was my school summer fayre and Mummy was there with a stall selling kitchen equipment so Daddy had the joy of following me around with my friend Laura. There was lots to see and do including a bouncy castle, pony rides and a treasure hunt. But here's a picture of the biscuit I decorated for Laura. She decorated one for me and they tasted amazing!

EIGHT!
Birthday time again! Dad was point-blank refusing to throw a big party for my birthday so instead, and since it falls during the Easter holidays, we went to the cinema and then for lunch with a very good friend. We all had a great time eating at my favourite restaurant!

Gingerbread Men and Houses!
While we were geocaching on holiday we picked up a trackable. For all of you muggles out there, a trackable is something that you collect from a cache and move to another cache. Each one has a unique number and you log it and look it up to see it's story or goal. This one was a gingerbread man and its goal was to move around caches and for people who collect it to make gingerbread men and put the pictures on its log. So when Dad went back to work, Mummy and me made gingerbread men! It was fun making them but even more fun eating them - they were delicious!
